The elephant is a magnificent and highly intelligent creature, and it seems very jarring to see it being used everywhere to represent the Republican party. The Republicans need to choose a more appropriate animal as a symbol.
After considering various options, I'm thinking they could use that thing that bursts out of John Hurt's chest and spends four whole movies trying to kill Sigourney Weaver. It embodies the themes of unwanted pregnancy carried to term, misogyny, selfishness, mindless violence, parasitic exploitation of humanity, and being alien to anything normal or native to this planet, rather nicely.

Infidel my stomach is in knots tonight as I watch the ugly smug faces of rethugs smiling and gloating about the governor wins in Virginia, and unfortunately probably in NJ. These rethugs are parasitic aliens! I'm just sick to my stomach...
Um,um,um ... must be one of them demonic archetype's of some sort? That stuff just scare's me though. That's fine though...I'll just march my white ass into church this sunday and I'll feel better by the grace of God!

Sue -- Ah, but watch the NY-23 race (see posting below this one), where the Democrat Bill Owens astonishingly seems to be winning in a district held by Republicans for almost as long as the Republican party has existed. If this holds, it's be a real upset.
McDonnell (in Virginia) was leading in the polls anyway, and is relatively moderate by Republican standards.
Gay marriage in Maine seems too close to call at the moment.
So while New Jersey is bad news, on the whole we're doing better than expected. The main risk is if the governor races spook Congress into another attack of cowardice on health-care reform. We may need another round of public pressure to counteract that.

Ha ha ha, you may be right. I photoshopped an image of the chest-burster from Alien with Dick Cheney's face on it, even though they look remarkably similar anyway. I'm just waiting for the right blog post to use it.

Well, the alien was at least less jowly. Cheney is a better choice than Limbaugh (you'd need an elephant to incubate one that size.....hmm.....). Hopefully the right posting will come along soon!
I like this idea. Gonna mention it on my blog tomorrow. :P
