4D: I wish that was it -- I could use a pay raise:-)

SK: Thanks for the link. Perry's links with these people need to be exposed.

I think we're all delaying something (everything?) until we see how this plays out.

Meanwhile, read something I'd love your input on. Evangelicals Without Blowhards.

And that was a lovely comment you left for Friko on her Care Package post.

Nance: Thanks. Actually I've pretty much tuned out the whole debt-ceiling thing. It's just that I'm having some computer problems.

It's nice to know some evangelicals aren't in league with the political crazies, but where are their voices opposing the militant Christian Right's anti-gay bigotry and anti-abortion totalitarianism? If Stott had "more impact" than Robertson or Falwell, why has no one (outside evangelical circles, perhaps) ever heard of him, while everyone has heard of Robertson and Falwell?

Infidel, isn't that the name one religious maniac gives to another religious mania?

Agnostic or Atheist sound less manic to me. Particularly when applied to me.

Thank you for coming over to Friko's World and leaving such a sweet comment, quite avuncular and reassuring.

Friko: I'm "reclaiming" the term. If "Infidel" is good enough for Ayaan Hirsi Ali, it's good enough for me!

I appreciated your post -- I think a lot of people on this side found it reassuring.
