I guess that story about snails and shopping malls was even funnier than I thought. You aren't alone. Kevin Robbins of Hometown USA liked it, too. Now I wonder if it has anything to do with the cartoon you used to illustrate this post.

Just the same, I expected you to link to my post about minor parties being the Underwear Gnomes of U.S. politics, since you left two comments on it. Speaking of which, I finally responded to you. I plan on turning my response to you into a post on my own blog. Also, I don't mind you leaving long comments. Better you than the spammers!

I found the post about "simpletons" to be very informative. The rest of the blog looks like it would be something I should read, too. Thanks for finding it!

Finally, some of my friends on Facebook posted the link to the Red State post about alt-reich-furries as well. They thought it was hilarious, especially the horrified "OMG, the call is coming from inside the house" reaction. Red State is having the kind of response to Trump that Little Green Footballs had to the election of Obama; a realization that succumbing to the temptation to move even farther to the right will lead to madness. LGF moved to the left. Red State is acting like the Red Queen -- running as hard as it can to stay in place.

Pinku: Well, you have to admit that "I was minding the desk at the Mollusk Division....." is a classic line. As for the third parties post, I was thinking of adapting the comment I left there into a post (it's certainly long enough), and I'd have linked to yours from there.

I didn't have anything specific in mind with the Karma cartoon. There's a lot of things these days it could be applicable to.

Brane Space is certainly one of the more intellectual blogs out there. I read it pretty regularly.

It seemed like RedState was at least as freaked out at discovering the existence of furries as at the Alt-Right connection. Heaven forbid anyone tells them about vore or shipping or DeviantArt, the poor innocent dears.

All I want to do right now is go out, buy some marshmallows and burn them.

I hope that guy makes money from his hobby. What does it say about fashion when he looks better than some of the originals?

Love the household hacks. #1 made me spit on my keyboard. #4 is just common sense. #9 made me say "Oy vey!" I live by #10. It has saved me lots of money in car repairs.

Omigosh! The statue of the saint. Maybe the sculptor should have left the yeast out of the bread. Then again, still might have been yucky. Maybe should have replaced the bread with a prune danish.

Nothing says stupid like vandalizing in a public place while wearing a neon green T-shirt with the name of your employer emblazoned on it.

I don't think I will be eating cheese any time soon. That reminded me of the old Isuzu ads. Their slogan was go farther, and it would appear on the screen one letter at a time. If you froze the picture, at one point it would say go fart. It ran for years, and I couldn't believe none of their ad people noticed.

I'll never look at a car the same way again.

Pigs can be huge. Look at the one living in the White House.

I'm so disillusioned. I thought crayons came from melted rainbows.

Aside from the amorality and crassness of crying over the drain of molesters leaving the entertainment industry, Dylan Byers is an asshole who apparently knows nothing of history. If he thinks there has never been an instance of so many artists being forced to walk away does not remember the 1940s and 1950s and the blacklisting of so much talent, the vast majority guilty of nothing.

That struck me as well about the fashion hobbyist. I think most "fashion" these days has reached a dead end and is just floundering. Globally, hundreds of cultures have been designing clothes for thousands of years. If there's an idea that hasn't been tried already, there's probably a good reason why it hasn't been tried.

I wonder if household hack #9 inspired Dr. Guillotin.

I really think some of these disastrous ads are deliberately made that way by creative people bored out of their skulls by the inane things they're forced to do for money. The same might be true of the Catholic statue. Who can believe that the person carving that didn't ever notice what it looked like?

If Trump is a pig (do pigs come in orange?), it should be brought to Joni Ernst's attention.

Excellent point about the old Hollywood blacklists. Over the centuries vast amounts of talent have been sacrificed to primitive taboos, witch-hunts, and paranoia.

It's your comment. Go right ahead. I'll wait until you do and then post my response.

Like the Disney stills that include some rather racy images. Error or the illustrators having a little bit of fun (or rebellion) and laughing to themselves?

Pinku: I am sometimes amazed by realizing what kind of things cultural conservatives are sometimes amazed by. They really do seem to be insulated from modern cultural diversity and the way the internet has helped it to flourish.

Nonnie: I'm sure there's a vast amount of subtle subversion out there being carried out by creative people, especially those trapped in the depths of capitalist anthills run by grey, humorless authoritarians who would never spot or suspect such thing.
